Knitted blanket for baby girl

Hi all, sorry for the delay and to stop on a sad post. I have had a very busy couple of days with nights away, family weddings etc loads and loads of photos to share soon.

So i thought i would share something i have been working on forever.

I knew i wanted to make baby a blanket and it needed to be knitted, I picked all the colours when we had out 20 week scan in April, It has been a long slog but its done.

I used Rico Merino Aran, its a superwash which is great for baby stuff and super soft.

My project page with all the details is here

I used a size 6mm needle, and i cast on 115 sts, I literally just made this up as I went, i just did a few different stitches, SS, Rib, Moss Stitch, Double Moss.

I choose not to do cables or anything that would 'pull' the knitting in.

So here it is yay, I really like it, i wanted bright fun colours and was inspired by the ones in Mamas and Papas but I refused to by one. The 'problem' with knitting is if you buy a knitted item people ask you if you have made it yourself, like all the time so naturally something the baby will use so much had to be handmade and it had to be by me.

I cant wait to wrap my little baby girl in this and bring her home.
Im rather proud of it.
