Hooking Heather

So on Sunday (so lost with days) I hopped on the train to go and visit Heather i hadnt seen her for a while and certainly not in a lets sit and make pretty things kinda way.

As I was in my knitting funk we thought we should do a little bit of hooking, but before i show you what we got up to, i wanted to show you some you my lovely xmas present she made me.

Erm yummy, a fabby xmas cushion made using the Granny Stripe pattern from Lucys blog, i love the frilly little edge its super cute.
she also got me 2 balls of my favourite wool for my birthday present yay!

So once presents were opened we got to some hooking, Heather wanted to teach me the Granny Stripe
2 colours and everything, im not very confident with crochet and i think its some what of a miracle i got my ripple blankets done and its a little tricky at first i think i slowly got there.

My teach along with my giant feet in my xmas thermal socks

Heather is currently mid way through a blanket and her wool was all lined up in order

So there you go that was my little hooking day. I also showed Heather how to use her sewing machine and she is slowly learning to make things, so i'm excited to she what she makes over the coming weeks.

Today was the first day back to work and i was soo suprised with how dark it was this morning, foolishly i thought it would have got a tiny bit lighter but it was pitch black and just as dark on the way home
I crazy cant wait for it to get lighter coz dark its pants, but we have passed the longest day of the year so we are coming out of the other side and im trying to cling on to that thought.

Right im off to go and pack Alfie bunny up as he is going home tonight, although he is currently lying down looking a bit dead but i have found thats a rabbit type thing to do lol

thanks for stopping by
Rach x

My new year's resolution is to stop looking like such a freak in photographs.

I really need to find someone nearby to teach me crochet!!

Hope the rabbit wasn't 'actually' dead!

I want to master crochet (yet another thing on my list!) - that cushion is beautiful :-)

Sounds like a fun day. I wish I had someone to craft with.

You should find the rest of the week a easier in the mornings...there was a partial solar eclipse between 8 and 9 which made it so dark that morning (check me out, who knew I was such a geek?!). Happy new year chick! xxx
