Woolfest 2011

Wow what a day we had yesterday it was a l-o-n-g day but a great day.

I dont have many photos of the event but stacks of what i bought etc, for actual Woolfest pics then pop over and see Heather/Little tin bird

So as you know I went on a trip organised by Baa Ram Ewe

I was still feeling a bit poorly and a coach ride wouldnt be on my top 10 things to do.

After a few hours (thats right!) we arrived.

Now being ill in the week i was on the laptop lots and bought a bit of wool for some projects i had in mind, quite big projects where i bought i might not be able to get the wool at Woolfest (more on that later).

So it was a bit random shopping.

I got this gorgeous skein from Laal Bear  I'm thinking a shawl for this

I got some buttons for my pink cardi i am working on

These are super special as they are made in a village in Africa, they sell them at Baa Ram Ewe and we got 10% off them yay!

Now i wasnt quite sure what to expect from Woolfest, i suppose similar to scrapbook events, so it was much the same, 100s of people pushing and shoving, it was a tad overwhelming.

There was definitely a theme with the yarn, there was very few actual balls of 'normal' wool, it was all hand dyed, in skeins, or fleece or actual sheep lol

ooh i forget who these are but pretty right?

So what else did i get?

This is Ba' T'at which are actually based here in Ilkley, (planning a trip there soon) mine is Spruce, i have no idea what im making yet but it was yummy.

I may have nipped over to the Herdy stall

How cute is this? i was going to get the grey one but i likes pink so why not, I have a million bags but i dont care, cute! (its full of all of my new wool here)

I got 3 skeins of this all yummy merino dk, not sure what for but enough to make something.

We had a bit of a collapse on the sofa for ages, oh we is me and Heather, then we decided to have another look around. It was a bit quicker so we made it to the yummy button stand that had been rammed all day long. I was pretty much out of money (it was cash only everywhere) when i spotted a card machine, yay so i got some buttons yippee.

The Octopus and Owls are for the vests im making for my friends twin boys.

So that finishes up the day, we had the longest coach ride ever back, i did a bit of knitting on the baby vest

then a few of us went to Wok On for some noodles to finish the day off.

I got home about 10pm, and promptly fell asleep on the sofa.
Overall a great day, I wish I could of got a couple more things but i knew i had been a bit naughty in the week, I will def go next year, but maybe i will be driving by then which i think would be easier going than the coach.

Right that took ages to write, I have some more lovely things to show you, so i think i will do that tomorrow before i bore you to death.

I have the next 2 days off work all alone, so im going to get my blooming pink cardi done and just chill out really.

Right, off to go and see if i can do anything to cool those bunnies down who are not loving how warm its been today.

Thanks for stopping by, please link your blog up if you were there i would love to see what you got.
